The Beatles is an English band from Liverpool who was active from 1960-1970. Their discography is extentive, especially for only being banded together for ten years, with thirteen albums and one compliation. The Beatles are the best selling musical acts ever, with over six hundred million units sold. In 1962, their first hit "Love Me Do" started what would be known as "Beatlemania". Though they discussed creating a new album, this time in a new direction, on September 20, 1970 John Lennon exited the Beatles.
Oasis is an English band from Manchester. They were active from 1991-2009 and had seven albums. Their first album, "Definitely Maybe" was an instant success. Their second album, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" is their most well known album with singles such as "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "Wonderwall". In 2009, minutes before the beginning of a show, lead guitarist and lyricist Noel Gallagher walked left the concert stating he could no longer work with his brother, vocalist Liam Gallagher.
The Smiths is an English band from Manchester that was active from 1982-1987. They released four albums with singles such as "What Difference Does it Make?", "The Boy with the Thorn in His Side", and "Barbarism Begins At Home". Tensions started to rise when guitarist Johnny Marr wanted to take a break from the band due to being exhuasted. This was preceived negatively by the band. Marr believed that vocalist Morrissey planted the article "Smiths to Split" in NME. Before the fourth album was released, the Smiths had already broke up.
